He has experience representing clients from post-accident investigation and pre-suit representation through litigation and trial. Carlos has a background in commercial litigation, civil litigation, personal injury, intellectual property, and worked as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. While at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office, Carlos prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides, was a member of the Traffic Homicide Unit, and tried numerous cases to verdict, both jury and non-jury. While working at a boutique Coral Gables firm, Carlos was also the lead associate on a Florida State Court case regarding the assassination of a former foreign Ambassador, which attained a $191,433,485.56 final judgment. He also has experience litigating matters involving the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA), Torture Victim Protection Act (TVPA), and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA). Carlos also represented non-owner victims in the catastrophic Champlain Towers collapse which occurred in June of 2021, as a member of the wrongful-death non-owner subclass, which eventually resulted in over $1 Billion dollars being recovered for the victims and loved ones of victims who tragically lost their lives.
Carlos is the oldest son of Cuban immigrants and speaks fluent Spanish. He grew-up in Miami, Florida, having attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans, where he double majored in Marketing and Management, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor and a Certificate in International Law from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
